Can I reuse my old key shell? The original VW key shells that are known to break where the blade sits, once opened those are not able to properly close the same
This is because they do not snap in place like this new replacement shell, they also use a glue and this seal is broken once opened

Should I get the key with cutting?
We highly recommend the key with a cutting service included. Some VW keys have a much thicker blade and will need to be sanded to fit in the new key's shoulder. It is better to have more keys to the vehicle, if you have many keys and no issues sanding ordering without cutting can be better

This key will not start the vehicle unless a programmed chip is installed inside
If you have a 2010 VW and the key can separate from the top and bottom, you will have the last generation key. Please order the 2001-2009 VW key listing instead of this listing.
